Mosaic Pique Assiette

Mrs. Keeling taught me how to pick pears.
She had two large trees in her yard.
The house had burned down years before and
she lived in an apartment above a drug store that bore her name.
She was a fine lady and I picked her pears as instructed.
She served me tea in her best china. Nothing matched anymore
but she did the best she could.
We sat in her kitchen, sipped tea and ate perfectly ripe pears.
A fine day for white trash royalty.
